lttl messages Privacy Policy

This policy explains how lttl messages (“the App”) handles your information. The App has no ads, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.

What the App collects

We do not collect, store or receive any personal information. The App has no internet access of its own, so your messages, contacts and phone details never reach us or anyone else through the App.

Your messages (SMS and MMS)

The App works only once you make it your default SMS app. It then reads, sends, receives and stores your text and picture messages in Android’s own message storage on your device, the same storage other SMS apps use. Messages leave your device only when you send them, through your mobile carrier, to the people you write to. Picture messages are downloaded and sent by Android’s MMS service over your carrier’s network.

If you switch back to another SMS app, your messages stay on your device and that app can show them.

Contacts

If you allow it, the App reads your contacts only to show names and photos instead of phone numbers, and to let you pick someone when starting a conversation. Contacts are never copied or sent anywhere.

Phone state and numbers

If you allow it, the App reads which SIM cards are in your device and their phone numbers, to let you choose the SIM a message goes from and to recognize your own number in group messages. This stays on your device.

Notifications

The App shows a notification for each new message, with a quick reply. Notifications are shown by Android on your device only.

Data stored on your device

Message drafts are kept only in memory while the App is open. Android may include the App’s settings in your device’s own backup if you have backups turned on. Uninstalling the App does not delete your messages, because they live in Android’s message storage, not in the App.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the way the App handles data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before releasing that version.
