lttl weather Privacy Policy
This policy explains how lttl weather (“the App”) handles your information. The App has no ads, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.
What the App collects
We do not collect, store or receive any personal information. We have no servers for the App and no way to see who uses it.
Location
If you allow it, the App reads your device’s approximate location (never precise) to show the weather where you are. You can use the App without this permission by searching for a city instead.
Data sent to weather services
To get the forecast, the App sends the coordinates of the place you are viewing to these weather services:
- Open-Meteo (main source). When you search for a city, the text you type is also sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service.
- OpenWeatherMap, only as a backup when Open-Meteo is not available.
To show the name of your current location, the App asks Android’s geocoder (on most phones a Google service) and, if that fails, OpenWeatherMap.
These requests do not include your name, an account or any device identifier. Like any website, these services see your IP address when they answer. Please refer to their privacy policies for how they handle it.
The widgets refresh the forecast in the background with the same requests.
Data stored on your device
Your saved cities, units and widget settings are stored only on your device. Android may include them in your device’s own backup if you have backups turned on. Uninstalling the App deletes them.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If the way the App handles data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before releasing that version.
